RPA is a T1D Friendly School
At Royal Palm Academy, we are proud to be a welcoming and supportive environment for students with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). With several T1D students across all age levels, our faculty, staff, and school nurse are well-versed in the day-to-day realities of managing diabetes at school.
Our team is experienced in supporting a variety of glucose monitoring and insulin delivery methods, including CGMs (continuous glucose monitors), insulin pumps, insulin pens, and finger-stick testing. We work closely with families to develop individualized care plans, provide appropriate accommodations, and ensure that students with T1D are safe, supported, and empowered to thrive—academically, socially, and spiritually.
We are committed to fostering a campus culture of understanding and compassion. Our school nurse is available on campus to assist students with testing, insulin administration, and any immediate needs related to glucose management throughout the school day.
Royal Palm Academy is also a proud supporter of the local chapter of Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) and its annual Gala to help find a cure. Together, we stand with our students and families in hope, advocacy, and care.
