Student Support is a collaborative system designed to help students and teachers achieve success in the classroom. The Student Support team works alongside educators to identify students’ academic strengths and areas for growth through data analysis, classroom observations, and ongoing progress monitoring.

This team provides targeted assistance through a variety of service models, including push-in and pull-out interventions, to support diverse learning needs. In addition to academic support, Student Support helps address behavioral and social-emotional needs by working closely with teachers and administration to guide appropriate interventions and referrals.

Student Support also plays a key role in providing enrichment opportunities for students who require additional academic challenges. The team serves as a resource for continued observation, problem-solving, and strategic planning to ensure all students are supported, challenged, and positioned for success.

Royal Palm Academy determines whether a student qualifies for student support services based on the student’s needs, available school data, teacher observations, parent communication, and, when applicable, outside professional evaluations.

Parents may request a conversation about student support at any time. However, placement in a student support pathway is determined by the school. This helps ensure that services are appropriate, consistent, and aligned with the student’s actual needs and the school’s available resources.

When support is recommended, the school will communicate with the family about the reason for the recommendation, the type of support proposed, the schedule, the cost if applicable, and the goals of the service.

A parent request does not automatically place a student in a support pathway. Royal Palm Academy will review the request in light of the student’s classroom performance, teacher observations, school data, parent input, and, when applicable, outside professional evaluations.

If the school determines that additional support is appropriate and available, RPA will communicate with the family about the recommended service, schedule, cost if applicable, and goals of the support. If the school determines that a different approach is more appropriate, we will communicate that clearly as well.

Our goal is to partner with families thoughtfully while ensuring that student support services are appropriate, consistent, and aligned with the student’s needs.

Yes, some student support services include an additional fee, depending on the level, frequency, and type of support provided.

Royal Palm Academy provides an outstanding general educational environment for all students as part of the regular tuition experience. This includes strong classroom instruction, teacher communication, age-appropriate differentiation, academic guidance, and partnership with families.

At times, however, a student may need, or a family may desire, additional support beyond the standard classroom experience. These enhanced services may include small-group or individual support, dedicated student support periods, testing accommodations, progress monitoring, additional parent communication, and more specialized planning.

Because these services require dedicated staffing, individualized attention, and additional time beyond the regular program, they carry an additional fee.

We view this through a partnership and service model. Families in Naples often value access to thoughtful, personalized support when it is needed. Our goal is to provide that support in a clear, professional, and responsive way, while remaining fair to all families and responsible with school resources.

Before any paid support service begins, the school will communicate clearly with the family about the recommended support, the schedule, the cost, and the goals of the service. The purpose is not simply to add services, but to provide the right level of support for the student in a way that is clear, sustainable, and beneficial.

Royal Palm Academy provides a strong general educational environment and a range of student support services within the mission, staffing, and structure of our school. However, not every student need can be met through RPA’s student support program.

The school determines whether a student support service is appropriate based on the student’s needs, available school data, teacher observations, parent communication, outside professional evaluations when applicable, and the school’s available resources.

If RPA determines that a student’s needs exceed what the school can reasonably and responsibly provide, we will communicate clearly with the family and discuss appropriate next steps. Our goal is always to be honest, charitable, and clear about how we can best support the student.

The pathways for Student Support vary based on individual student needs and may begin through a variety of referral sources and processes. Each pathway is based on a student’s individual needs.The two main pathways in our Student Support Program are:

Launch: Grades K-3: M-F: ELA/Math Skill Gaps, Progress Monitoring, Does Not Enroll in Spanish *

*First Year of Launch: 3  days per week during ELA Class, Does Enroll in Spanish

Elevate: Grades 4-8: M-F:All Course Skill Gaps, Grade Monitoring, Executive Functioning Skills, Does Not Enroll In Spanish

Q: Are there options for students that want to take Spanish, do not want to enroll in Launch or Elevate,  but still need some level of Student Support in the classroom?

A: Yes, we offer a Push In Service 2 days per week that supports your student in the classroom, specifically Math or ELA: dependent upon your student’s needs.

Yes, we offer Testing Accommodations Quarterly through our Student Support Program for a fee.

These accommodations include: Extended Time on Tests/Quizzes, Read To Accommodations, Speech to Text, Dictation and Testing in a Quiet Environment. We offer small group and individual 1:1 Testing Accommodations.

When a student receives approved testing accommodations in a class, the grade for that class may be marked with an asterisk (*) and accompanied by a brief report card comment indicating that the grade was earned with testing accommodations.

This notation does not reduce or change the student’s grade. The grade remains the student’s earned grade. The purpose of the notation is to maintain an accurate academic record and to document the supports provided to the student.

This documentation is helpful for families, especially if a student later transitions to another school or seeks services through a public school. Schools often need evidence of academic impact, prior accommodations, and documented educational need when considering formal support plans or services. Keeping this information clear in the student’s record helps families advocate effectively and helps future schools understand the student’s learning needs.

No, RPA is not staffed to honor IEP’s/504’s or other educational plans.

RPA does not modify curriulum.

The needs of students are determined through the Student Support Process. Neuropsychological and Psycho Educational Evaluations help inform our teacher team within our standard general education environment.

Yes. RPA offers a Catch Up Concierge Service before or after school.

We offer Executive Functioning support for a fee. Once per week during a chosen elective, the student will spend half of the period focusing on these strategies.

Yes. Student Support will communicate with these professionals to help support and collaborate with their classroom teachers.

RPA is not a specialized therapeutic school or a full-service exceptional student education program. While we are able to support many students who need additional academic support, testing accommodations, executive functioning support, or short-term intervention, we may not be able to meet every student’s needs.

Student support services are determined by the school based on the student’s needs, school data, teacher observations, parent communication, outside professional evaluations when applicable, and available school resources.

If RPA determines that a student needs a level of support beyond what we can reasonably and responsibly provide, we will communicate clearly and compassionately with the family and discuss appropriate next steps. Our goal is always to serve students well, honestly, and responsibly within our school model.

Royal Palm Academy is committed to serving students well within the mission, staffing, and structure of our school. At times, however, a student may need a level of support that goes beyond what RPA can reasonably and responsibly provide.

If this occurs, the school will communicate clearly and compassionately with the family. We will review the student’s needs, share the school’s concerns, and discuss appropriate next steps. These next steps may include outside evaluation, outside tutoring or therapy, additional professional support, or, in some cases, consideration of another educational setting that may be better equipped to meet the student’s needs.
